Updates

So, I haven't posted in a month! It has been too busy for my liking.

I need to work on my Pay It Forward and will once I finish my PROMISED sweater and socks to myself.

Things are good. I got lots of yarn for Christmas. Joined a sock KAL to help me stay focused on the sock goals.

Thats it for now. Happy New Years!

Crochet Sunday

I will be taking an intro Crochet class on Sunday. Can't wait!!!

I got my Ravelry invite on Tuesday! So excited! Looking around it makes me realize that I have been terrified to try harder stuff. I need to move beyond the scarf/hat patterns and try something harder. I need to explore patterns.

I cast on for my secret swap project and am liking it. It will need to be felted, which scares me a bit. But I am sure it will be fine. I will try and have it finished by next week and will post pictures then.

YO Fears BE GONE!

So, I have had a very unhealthy fear of the yarn over. Well, no more!!! This is Rebecca's 1st scarf and it was a super easy pattern but with the dreaded YO. I think I may have mastered it. Loved the way it turned out. She did too (yippeeee)!

This is a close up of the stitchwork.

And this is my baby boy, Wiley, checking it out.

Pay it Forward

Posting this a 2nd time as I have had no takers yet!
These are the instructions: "It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s based of the concept of the movie “Pay it Forward” where acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on. I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting it. What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. And you have 6 months to do it. And one day at the mailbox, you will get a surprise -- a gift made especially for YOU!
Please remember, anyone who can make a nice handmade gift is welcome to join :)

Thanks,
Sheryl

Projects, Projects, and More Projects

Well, I found the digital camera so I am posting pictures of the hat and scarf (both cables) for Lindsay! (Me wearing both and the view of what it looks like in the box) Very happy with how both turned out.

Still have a few projects for others on the list before I start anything for myself. Luke loved his 3 hats and wants 2 more, so I will be knitting those up soon!
I have started the scarf for Natalie. And Rebecca wants 2 scarves for her move to a colder place (which will not get done before she leaves in 2 weeks -- I will have to mail them to her).
I am thinking that about what I want to knit for my secret swap....and I think I am going to attempt a felt project. Also, waiting to get the yarn swap assignment...I just love any reason to buy yarn!

Knit it Forward

So, I finally did it -- I started my own swap. I have been wanting to join one forever, so I started my own. I am really excited about it and hope that it runs smoothly and that everyone is happy.

Updates to the previous blog:
1) I did update all of my needles and got my new ones in the mail!!! YIPPPPPEEEE!!!! I MUST find the digital camera so I can start taking pictures.
2) Had to frog Lindsay's hat...restarted it last night.
3) Have yet been able to go pick out yarn with Natalie for her scarf. Our schedules just are not working.
4) Haven't done any charity hats which makes me sad.

Also. Riss (Bound & Cabled) has a Pay it Forward plan as well. She knits something for 3 people a year. Surprise things. And I am person #3. So, I am going to offer the same here.....the first 3 people to contact me will get something from me in the next year. I love knitting for other people plus I will be more willing to try more complicated things. So, if you want to be on my list, let me know!

Next?

Up next?
Organizational Needs:
Well, I need to clean up my yarn stash. I also need to organize my needles. I ordered 6 pairs of Addi Turbos and they should be here next week!!! So...need to get my stuff a bit more organized. Plus my husband is tired of helping me look for needles and/or stash yarn for a project.

Swap:
Testing out to see if there is an interest to do some type of swap. I am game for just about anything KNITTING related. ;-) Could be just swapping yarn or a knitted item. Hopefully, I will get a decent response for it. As i LOVE to knit for other people and I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting things in the mail!

Projects:
1) Finish the cable hat for Lindsay.
2) Scarf for Natalie
3) Socks for me
4) Preemie baby hats as I can get them done (should be able to do 2 a week once my new Addi's get here!)
5) Will bring out the dreaded 2x frogged sweater and START IT AGAIN!

Survey Says...CABLES!!

Finished my 1st cable project! A scarf for my friend Lindsay who is coming to visit in a month! I am so pleased with it. Knitting up a cable hat to match since I have enough left over yarn.

Baby Blanket

Basically found a bunch of cute "dishcloth" style blocks and knit it in 4 blocks 4 times. Simple, and super cute.

Picture was taken with my cell phone -- seems I have lost the camera in the move 6 months ago!!
Colors are lime, buttercup, turquoise, purple from Microspun.

Scraps And Such

So I have decided to clean up/out my yarn stash. I am going to start making baby hats and donate them to charity. Also, made a cute little iPod Cozy. I am starting my first Cable project...a scarf for my friend in VA.
Both scrap projects are done with a leftover stash of Microspun.

Afghan

This is the major project from last year. Took me a few months, but it was well worth it.

Baby Sweater

This was a project from earlier this year -- I figured if I could do a baby sweater, I could do an adult sweater. Hmmm...might be a few flaws in that line of thought.
